ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Delphine, the Visionary behind Acha’s Foundation, is drawn by a deep-rooted passion for improving the health and well being of underserved communities. Born as the fifth out of seven children, her life took a defining turn when her father sadly passed away due to a protracted illness during her formative years.

As a child witnessing her father’s struggle and pain, it ignited an unwavering commitment within her to make a difference. Her mum operated a restaurant as a means of raising the children with the little gain she had. As a result, Delphine went to school from home. It was this personal experience that shaped her path towards the health sector when she had the opportunity to move to the US, which opened up a vast opportunity for her. She decided to study pharmacy and now practicing as a pharmacist, coupling to her experiences that ultimately led to the establishment of Acha’s Foundation.

With an innate desire to bring about positive change and ensure that no one else had to endure the hardship her family faced, Delphine embarked on a journey of education and empowerment as mentioned above. She pursued studies in pharmacy, dedicating herself to gaining the knowledge and skills necessary that exist in underserved communities. Motivated by a clear purpose, Delphine worked tirelessly, undertaking research, collaborating with like-minded individuals, and engaging with grassroot organizations. These collective efforts laid the foundation for the creation of Acha’s Foundation, an organization committed to providing accessible healthcare solutions and improving the well-being of those most in need.
This life changing experience was birthed when Delphine visited Cameroon in 2015. Witnessing the deplorable conditions faced by many, particularly a malnourished child in Tiko who lacked access to education and suffered from severe health issues, served as a catalyst for the creation of Acha’s Foundation. During her visit, she was shocked and profoundly moved by the dire circumstances she encountered. The sight of a child struggling with malnutrition and devoid of educational opportunities struck a chord within her. It was a stark reminder of the disparities and challenges that many individuals face in their daily lives. Determined to make a difference, Delphine founded the Acha’s Foundation with a steadfast commitment to reflecting the positive changes she witnessed abroad in her home country. The goal was to create an organization that could address the critical needs of vulnerable individuals and communities in Cameroon, with a strong emphasis on education, healthcare and overall well-being. Operating as Acha’s foundation, Delphine is committed to improving health care access and promoting wellness in communities across Africa. To her, this project is dedicated to providing comprehensive support through various initiatives, including financial assistance for hospital bills, medical outreach programs, partnership with local clinics for free testing, community education aimed at educating individuals on testing for blood sugar, high blood pressure, just to name but these, and even partner with medical practitioners abroad where she is for them to come do free surgeries in a month. With an understanding that medical expenses can often pose a significant burden for individuals and families, preventing them from accessing necessary healthcare services, in order to reach and impact underserved populations and remote communities and with a firm believe that knowledge is power when it comes to health. this program according to her is aimed at alleviating this burden by providing financial assistance to those in need.
